  <description><![CDATA[ Common forms to save plots in R include PNG or SVG. Both have their advantages, be it e.g.&nbsp;versatility or scalability. I learned about the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebP">WebP image file format</a> recently and that it is supported by all major web browsers<sup>1</sup>. The format offers considerable compression improvements over PNG with no apparent visual accuracy loss (in default settings). ]]></description>

As in plots, an <em>informative</em> table not only contains enough data to give a comprehensive understanding, but also guides the viewer to the relevant bits. This makes the data more accessible, while inclined readers can still see the complete data. In addition, going beyond default style and aesthetics can improve the visual appearance and interpretability. ]]></description>
